This semester, I took my first college chemistry and calculus classes. These classes ended up to be something completely different than what I previously imagined. In high school, I studied a few hours the day before an exam and I was able to get good grades. However, I recently learned that this way of studying was not going to work in college. It took a few exams and some tears, but I finally realized that studying needed to be a daily habit rather than cramming the night before an exam. Since then, I have started to study for each of my classes a little bit every day. I have found success in this new study technique. I plan on utilizing the new skills that I have learned in order to create success throughout the rest of my college career.

Flag Football Scholars Event
I attended a Bio Science Scholars flag football game on October 9, 2016. The event was fun and was a great way to connect with my peers. I did not play in the game, but I cheered on the team from the sidelines with Becca and Sarah, who are two other Bio Science Scholars that I live with. I feel that I gained a lot from this experience. I was able to connect with people who have similar interests and talents. I was also able to support old and new friends by cheering them on throughout the game. These experiences will follow me into my future career and for the rest of my life because it is important to connect with those who think similarly to me and to support those around me in everyday life.
