An introduction to world history course focused on the topic of food. Trace the role foodways, cookways, and drinkways have played in the evolution of humanity and human cultures, from the emergence of humanity nearly two million years ago to the present. Explore how food and eating have shaped human history, and focus on how trade, conflict, identity, and globalization have changed (and are changing) how and what we eat, and how food has been a critical determiner of the history of the world.
