WPS is located near the top of Wheeler Peak in a very rocky environment. It is the highest temperature and humidity sensor in the park. On average, summertime daily maximum temperatures reach 57°F and cool to a minimum near overnight 26°F . Winter temperatures are substantially cooler with daytime high’s averaging around 35°F and overnight lows average 0°F.
