In the green engineering class my group decided to research nuclear fusion as a source of renewable energy.  This is important to society today because fusion reactors would provide the world with an almost limitless supply of energy, they create almost no radiation, and the process would be safer than current fission processes.  Reactors that use strong magnetic fields to induce a reaction and create plasma are the future of this technology.    However, more research is needed in this area to make it a viable renewable energy option.

About Me

My name is Jacob Gase and I am majoring in Environmental Engineering.  In high school many of my most memorable experiences were because of the FFA.  I was highly involved in this group being the treasurer, vice president, and president for my chapter.  I participated in state competitions and am going to compete in a national competition in the fall.  Some of the best experiences I had with this organization were during camps and at the national leadership conference. I completed multiple service projects during my time and I plan on continuing to do so throughout college.
In my personal life I am a very active person who tries to be outside as much as possible. I love the outdoors and going on adventures to places that aren’t on planned paths. I enjoy talking to people and making new friends. I plan on joining quite a few clubs on campus.
During college I plan on completing an internship with an industry related to my field. I plan on applying to be a member of the honors program at OSU as well and to maintain an exemplary GPA.  I am involved in the Green Engineering Scholars group and live in Torres house on campus.  During college I would like to build up my resume with many experiences that will help for the future.
