Game Mechanics Library

The Game Mechanics Library is a project that aims to give ACCAD students a set of mechanics to design games around.

These mechanics are meant to be highly configurable, enabling students to be creative in their usage. Each mechanic can either be used in a sidescroller or topdown game, along with the default character controller which can be configured to be used in both. All components are designed to be configurable and usable without the need for any programming knowledge, though they can be extended through the use of events.

In collaboration with Scott Swearingen:

– Matt Hall initially developed the library, beginning in 2021.

– Alex Contreras continued developing and updating the library, beginning in the winter of 2022.

– Paige Mickol rewrote the library from scratch with a focus on game feel and configuration, beginning in the summer of 2024.
