Module 6: Searching and Researching

Module 6 Reflection:

This module was probably one of the more informing lessons that we have had so far in this class in my opinion. I have only been in college for about a month now and I can already tell that writing papers is very relevant in every single class I am in. Having said that, the most useful thing I learned throughout this module was the Tips for Writing a College Research Paper video on slide 6. The video talked about how writing lengthy papers in college is all about organization, structure, and mindset. The lady in the video also stressed the fact that writing to you should never be a chore, you should approach it as an art. This is a good piece of advice for me and probably a lot of students because when I get assigned a paper, I immediately get angry because writing is time consuming. Another great tip from the video is to gather all of your information and research before you start writing the actual paper. This will make your life a whole lot easier as you will be more organized and ready to go as you begin writing. She also stressed the fact that if you are writing a really long paper, use subheads to keep your essay organized. I am excited to start using these writing techniques and mindsets in the future to make writing papers more fun. If you are a younger student in high school I really recommend you start learning these things now so that when you get to college it is easy for you.
