Finishing the Gown

In sewing together the gown, I start by attaching the front body to the back body, only at the shoulders. Then, I attach the sleeves.
Once that is sewn, I pin together the seam that runs all the way up the arm, and down the side body.
Then, I sew all of this too.
Everything fits together, and is roughly attached properly.
So, I start my second pass to go through a finish all the seams.
At the bottom of the gown, I fold over and iron down the seams to be sewn into place.
This creates a clean and secure finish, so that the pieces can withstand many washes.
I have a small amount of bias tape, which I use to finish the neckline.
For the sleeves, I will need to get more elastic.
So I cut out two strips from the old bra I have been using as mask material.
I realize here that I have done things in a bit of the wrong order, and I have to tear out a portion of the sleeves seam to attach the elastic.
I test and adjust the elastic bands to the correct size, and then re-sew the seam to finish the sleeves.
