The hydrobiogeochemistry lab has openings for 1-2 graduate students at the MS or PhD level. Research in the lab primarily utilizes fieldwork and labwork to study the hydrologic and biogeochemical functioning of streams, with an emphasis on watershed controls of water quality. The ideal graduate student would have experience with field techniques (hydrologic measurements, collecting water samples) and/or laboratory analysis of water chemistry. Potential research projects include:
- dissolved organic matter-microbe interactions
- dissolved organic matter in urban environments
- the effect of urbanization on the coupling of the carbon and hydrologic cycles
- urban green infrastructure and water quality
