Positions for Graduate Students

We are recruiting graduate students in the Yang group.  Our research is focused on spin, magnetic, topological, and quantum phenomena in complex materials and heterostructures, including complex oxides, topological insulators, and intermetallic systems. Our group uses ultrahigh vacuum off-axis sputtering and molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) for growth of epitaxial films with state-of-the-art quality, which provide a versatile platform for the exploration of intriguing new sciences and development of new technologies. Current projects include antiferromagnetic spintronics, magnetic skyrmions, electrical control of magnetism, terahertz dynamics, and materials for quantum information research. Yang group is funded by Department of Energy, Center for Emergent Materials (an NSF MRSEC), Air Force Office for Scientific Research, DARPA, and National Science Foundation.
