FULTON COUNTY JUNIOR FAIR

2023 Fulton County Fair – September 1-7

 

Thursday, August 31

  • 12pm noon-8:00 PM – All livestock projects may arrive at the fairgrounds (enter off County Rd J for vet inspection)
    • Scales (NOTE THE ADJUSTED LOCATIONS FOR HOGS/SHEEP/GOATS)
      • Hogs will be in the hog barn
      • Sheep will be in the end of the old goat barn.  Where the joint scale for goats and sheep were in the past.
      • Goats will be in the Spangler Arena in the Southeast Corner.
  • 12pm noon-8:00 PM – Booth Set-Up in Junior Fair Building

  • 1:30 – 2:30 PM – PEDAL PULL REGISTRATION (Sale Arena)
  • 3:00 PM – Straw Loading Contest (Spangler Arena)
  • 3:00 PM – Nickel Scramble (Sale Arena) (Children 6 & under)
  • 3:00 PM – Pedal Power Pull Contest (Sale Arena)
  • 6:30 PM – Showman of Showmen – Horse Arena (6:30 PM) and Spangler Arena (7 PM)

  • 6:00 PM – Small Animal Sale (Sale Arena)

  • 9:00 AM – Large Animal Sale (Sale Arena)

  • 8:00 AM until NOON, Fairgrounds Clean Up

GENERAL INFO

Participation in the Fulton County Junior Fair exhibits and shows is voluntary.  It is the expectation of the Livestock Sale Committee and Fulton County Senior Fair Directors that youth exhibit their own animals.  Off-grounds events are not considered special circumstances.


OHIO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE (ODA) RULES

All animals coming into Ohio from Michigan have health requirements. For a copy of the Ohio State Regulations on Health Requirements Governing the Admission of Animals or other information on current animal health regulations, contact DVM-Chief, Division of Animal Industry, Ohio Dept. of Agriculture, 8995 East Main St., Reynoldsburg, Ohio 43068.

DATES OF ANIMAL POSESSION

All steers must have been in the possession of a 4-H and/or FFA member by January 1, 2023.

All feeder calves, sheep, dairy cattle, goats, roaster rabbits, market rabbit breed does, horses, hogs, llamas, poultry (except broilers) must be in the possession of the 4-H and/or FFA member by June 1, 2023.

Please note, the above dates may differ slightly from the 2023 Ohio State Fair dates of possession. If you are exhibiting an animal at the Ohio State Fair, please refer to ohiostatefair.com/livestock for their dates.


DRUG USE NOTIFICATION FORM (DUNF)

All DUNFs will be completed online for each eligible/required animal prior to entering the grounds on animal check-in day, August 31. A separate email will follow with instructions no later than August 20. The online collection will take place August 21-30, 2023. More information can be found in the “Junior Fair” section below.
