Hi! I’m John Fruner. My plan for the future is to seek a career in medicine, specifically anesthesiology. Besides that, I am also looking into being a commercial pilot (for which airline I do not know for sure, but it would probably be Southwest). I joined HES to help strengthen my ties with the community as well as discover some of the community that The Ohio State University has to offer me. I am a middle child with an older brother, a younger brother, and a younger sister. Their names are Ryan, Garrett, and Lauren in the order of oldest to youngest. We have two dogs in our house, an English lab named Bella and a corgi-lab mix named Rose, who are always fighting with our two cats. I love going out on Alum Creek lake, running, or riding my motorcycle around whenever the weather permits.

Artifacts
Artifact 1: It is reading books like this one here that has been life changing for me. A good book has never failed to entertain me and I always leave wanting more. My reading craze started back in elementary school, where I visited the library frequently and always was eager to check out books on this or that. Mostly it was history (surprisingly enough) and I still often find myself reading a lot of non-fiction these days. While the book above is fiction, it is realistic and deals with kind of military espionage story. Real history is the foundation for the book, but the events that take place are fiction. This love for non-fiction has been a real help for seemingly dry assignments, and for the future I believe it will continue to be a key to my success. I will continue to read more, so that I will hopefully be an expert on the topic before it is even taught to me.
Artifact 2: The jet.
A B-2 Spirit stealth bomber to be exact. This particular item I got from the Dayton air show over one summer a couple of years back. But my love for flying machines goes farther back then that though. Ever since I was old enough to understand what planes were, I loved them. Now this partially came from the fact that my dad is a pilot and my mom is a flight attendant (they do not work for the same company btw). Naturally I was exposed to a lot of jets and planes this way, whether it was when my dad took me to the company hangars or a simple visit to the airport to watch planes land. However my fascination for aviation grew with my need to read. As I read more and more a about jets and planes I only wanted more. So I kept reading, with a particular emphasis on wartime jets and planes of various time periods. So this artifact reminds me of that past and my continuing love love for anything that flies…
