SAS Lab

Sustainable Agroecosystems Lab

The Sustainable Agroecosystems (SAS) Lab is a collaborative research and education hub within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) at The Ohio State University. Our lab bridges the Department of Horticulture and Crop Science and the Department of Animal Sciences, focusing on the intricate relationships between plants and animals in agroecosystems. We specialize in forage diversification strategies, grazing management practices, and the assessment of environmental impacts, integrating research, extension, and teaching to advance sustainable agriculture.

Forage Quality Analysis

Our lab offers comprehensive forage quality analysis services, including assessments of standing forage, hay, and silage. We utilize Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) for precise and efficient analysis. Please note that we currently do not provide wet chemistry forage analysis.
