G.O.A.L.S. Overview

Global Awareness: I am primarily interested in learning about Scandinavian culture and language, so I plan to take three semesters of Swedish as well as to study abroad in Sweden during the Summer of 2019.

Original Inquiry: While at The Ohio State University, I plan to pursue undergraduate research for the duration of my education, and I plan to do an Honors Thesis during the fall semester of my senior year.

Academic Enrichment: I am pursuing a major in Neuroscience and a minor in Chemistry because I am primarily interested in the cellular/molecular aspect of the addiction mechanism. I’ve set up my academic plan to include a wide range of classes in the cellular/molecular field of neuroscience, and I am hoping that my pursuits in chemistry will enhance my understanding of this field.

Leadership Development: To expand my opportunities in leadership, I plan to become a member of Nu Rho Psi and to become a Neuro Ambassador. Both of these opportunities will allow me to connect both to incoming undergraduate students and to reach out to professionals in the health sciences field. I also plan to get involved in Off the Lake to pursue my interests in theater.

Service Engagement: I am currently a member of Recipe 4 Good, which is a service organization that helps cater to the homeless and the poor, but I am also considering joining the Red Cross next semester to get further engaged in the community.
