This activity is administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE) and hosted by the Department of Teaching and Learning at The Ohio State University.

We are excited and eager to welcome you to Ohio State in July and August for your orientation session. We will use this website to share important information with you, and it will remain active as a resource for you to remain connected to your fellow Teaching Assistants as you progress through your experience here in the United States.

Ohio State is located in Columbus, Ohio, the state capital (pop. 880,000). Columbus is ranked as Forbes #1 up-and-coming tech city in the country and one of Money Magazine’s “6 Best Big Cities.” For FLTAs arriving from and departing to various locations, Columbus is centrally located in the Midwest of the United States and has an easily accessible airport. Ohio State is a public land-grant university founded in 1870, and the main campus is the third largest in the U.S. with almost 60,000 students enrolled. The College of Education and Human Ecology houses the language education programs, which are among the top ranked in the field, and has one of the oldest master’s programs in Language Teacher Education.

We have two surveys for you to complete:
The first should be done now and covers your needs while you are here.
The second should be completed after you have finalized your travel arrangements.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our team who will be coordinating your experience here on campus.

See you soon!
