Water Polo

This year I joined the OSU Women’s Water Polo team. It has been an amazing opportunity to get to know some wonderful people while playing a sport I love. The girls on the team were exceptionally welcoming, we have created our own small family within the Ohio State Community. As a team, we travel to tournaments on weekends and have practice about three day a week. The older players have become mentors to me, and are always there to offer a ride, support or advice. My OSU experience would be so different without them, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have them in my life. IMG_7254

Year in Review

My sophomore year has absolutely flown by! I have had the opportunity to explore more classes within the business school, and really appreciate the amazing professors I have had the chance to learn from. Outside of the classroom, I completed a year-long internship with a healthcare start-up in downtown Columbus, CrossChx. It was a digital marketing internship and I was able to learn so much about marketing B2B within the digital world, as well as the basics in design and website design. I also have continued my participation within the Ohio State’s Women’s Water Polo. I am grateful to have had an amazing season and am proud to announce that we are the Big Ten Champions. Next week, we are headed to the University of Pittsburgh for nationals. Another big participation of mine this year was Alleviating Poverty Through Entrepreneurship, also known as APTE. This wonderful organization focuses on social enterprises both locally and internationally. The people that I met through this student org are truly inspirational. As Marketing Director, I coordinated both external and Internal Marketing as we organized our ninth annual APTE Summit. I also assisted in creating the first ever fall event-  Impact Afternoon, where we explored sustainable options for service trips that Ohio State could implement. I am honored to say that next year I will be co-directing Alleviating Poverty Through Entrepreneurship as it begins it’s tenth official year. This year has truly been a whirlwind of reconnecting with old friends, as well as meeting new and highly successful peers. I also feel that I have learned academically, in addition to learning about myself. This summer I am headed down under, to Sydney, Australia. I am beyond thrilled for this opportunity and will be interning for a local start-up there. In addition, I hope for the chance to explore the country and venture out to New Zealand for a few weeks. Although I have exciting plans for this summer, part of my heart remains in Columbus and I can not wait to return for my junior year. Next year, I am fortunate enough to be a Fisher Peer Advisor, as well as participate in both the Middle Market Industry Cluster and the Honors Contract Program.
