Research Study for Parents or Caregivers of Children in Residential Treatment
What is the purpose of the study?
To test an online program and parent groups for parents of children in residential treatment. We are interested in how the program supports parents and children, especially during the transition from residential treatment to the community.

This study is open to adult caregivers of children aged 11 to 17 who accessed residential treatment. This includes grandparents, step-parents, adult siblings, foster parents, etc.
Caregivers DO NOT have to be the legal guardian to participate in the study.
What will happen during the study?
- Attend a screening and consent appointment by phone or video call.
- Fill out web-based questionnaires three times over a 6-month period.
- Parents will be randomly assigned to a usual care group (parents do not receive additional programming normally provided to them) or an intervention group (parents receive online program and virtual parent groups).
Will I be compensated for participating?
Yes, participants will be compensated for their time.
