My First Semester

Wow what a semester it’s been! I can’t believe the last day of classes is tomorrow, I feel like I just moved in yesterday. Even though this semester went by quickly, a lot happened during this semester. I got myself involved in extracurriculars that I’m really excited about, like 4 Paws for Ability and Off the Lake Productions. Having extra curriculars has really helped my adjustment, since I’ve always been super involved,so being busy is somewhat comforting for me. I think I realized that I need to schedule things for myself to do to make sure I’m budgeting my time. For example, I know I can’t work during rehearsal, so I have to make sure I leave enough time to study before. My classes have been very interesting, and I’m super excited to start my next semester of classes! My favorite class of this semester was definitely animal handling. It gave me a really great introduction to the animal industry, and we got to do a ton of hands on work with livestock animals. I’m definitely nervous about my finals later this week, but I’m hoping that if I put enough work in they’ll turn out alright. Being a part of arts scholars has given me many of my friends, and I’m really enjoying all of the activities we do together. I’ve learned a lot this semester, whether it be about chemistry or about my own study habits, and I can’t wait to see what the next semester holds for me!

My First Week!

My first week at OSU has been a whirlwind, but definitely a good whirlwind!! Move in and welcome week went really well! The sheer amount of people at every event was slightly overwhelming. I’ve been to big events before I got here, but I definitely was not used to how big this school is! But even though the amount of people is overwhelming, the size of OSU has already helped me a lot, and given me a lot to be excited about. For example, at the involvement fair I saw at least twenty clubs that I could see myself joining. I was only in one club in high school, so this is definitely a change I’m excited about! I’m, planning to get involved in 4 Paws for Ability and Off the Lake, and I’m so excited to get started. The first few weeks of classes have been a little weird because I’ve always paired my classes with extracurriculars, but now I only have classes. I know this will change soon, but I’m really excited to get involved outside of classes. My roomate and I are getting along really well so far, and everyone on my hall is already pretty close, which is amazing. Overall my first week has been great, and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
