It is crazy to think that I have already finished 2 years of undergraduate college. I have grown so much in these past two years and can not wait to see what opportunities I will receive in the following years.

In these past two years I have been able to complete many hours by participating in summer courses. This being said I have also planned to graduate a year early. I can not believe that I may only have a year left here at The Ohio State University as an undergraduate student.

Since next year may be my final year I plan to make the most of it. I want to challenge myself to try new things and meet new people. Taking care of myself is also a high priority. This can be done by involving myself in areas that pertain to what I love which is physical activity and health. I plan to prepare myself the best I can to obtain my doctorate in Physical Therapy by networking and constantly learning.

Angel Firmalan is a biology major at The Ohio State University and is a part of the Biological Sciences Scholars program. Coming into her freshman year at a university filled with diversity and opportunities she is ready to start the next chapter of her life.

Throughout high school she has dedicated herself not only to her education but also to various clubs and extracurricular activities. Angel took multiple honor classes along with AP classes such as honors biology, honors chemistry, AP calculus AB/BC, AP physics, AP literature, AP language and composition, and AP psychology. She intends to use her growing knowledge to overcome new challenges. She was also a part of the math club, performing arts department, National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society, cheerleading squad, and a competitive dance team. She recently helped lead her team to obtaining a winning national title.

Angel has become the person she is from her past achievements along with her failures, but she would be nowhere without her family. Being the middle child with three brothers and a sister and raised by two immigrant parents, she could have not been able to accomplish what she has. She proudly represents her Filipino culture and will work hard to make her family proud.

While living in the present, Angel hopes to continue her education in medical school to allow herself to  help those in need.
