Artifacts

The one artifact that means most to me from my time here at OSU so far would probably be the Dunn Sport and Wellness Scholars T Shirt that we got our first week here. Although there is nothing special about the t shirt, the name on the front is special to me. Coming to Ohio State from Long Island, NY was a big step in my life. I was leaving what was most comfortable to me and in the process walking away from what has surrounded me for 18 years of my life. I remember the drive here, I was so nervous about what it would be like to be on my own and starting a life where I was not surrounded with what I was used to. The first day I moved in and was surrounded by my fellow Dunn Sport and Wellness Scholars, I knew right away that I was home. The dark grey almost charcoal like t shirt that on the front reads “Dunn Sport and Wellness Scholars”, is a symbol of my new family here at THE Ohio State University. When I wear this shirt, I don’t just think of the program that I am a part of but of the many other scholars that I am lucky enough to call my bets friends. This shirt will be something that will always be a part of me, it will be a symbol of where I have been and the things that propelled me to my future. If it wasn’t for DSWS, my time at OSU would not be the same.

About Me

I am Bobby Fieman, a member of the Dunn Sport and Wellness Scholars program at The Ohio State University. I am from Massapequa, New York, a town located on Long Island, about an hour east of New York City. Massapequa is well known for being the hometown of Jerry Seinfeld, as well as Alec and Billy Baldwin. I am a Sport Industry major in the college of Education and Human Ecology. My plan is to get a Masters in degree in Sport Management once I complete my undergraduate degree here at OSU. I decided to be a Sport Industry major because of my passion for sports. Ever since I was a kid, sports, baseball in particular, were the things that made me tick. I grew up in a family that sacrificed a lot to allow me to play baseball so for me, it was a no brainer to continue to center my life around what I am most passionate about. Thankfully for me when I was accepted in to the DSWS program I was surrounded by people who share a lot of my values and so I have been blessed to make amazing friends here in my program.
