Efficiency in the Digital Age

The most important thing I learned from module 3 is I am a fear of failing procrastinator. I never really knew why I would wait until the last minute to complete assignments. Most times, I knew I was just overwhelmed with the work load. I later realized that I was not only overwhelmed with the work load but overwhelmed with the thought of getting a bad grade at something I worked hard on. I am always excited when I see i recurved a B on an assignment I finished at the last minute. Instead of should be upset I didn’t start earlier and try harder to receive an A. The main thing I learned is you will never understand the problem if you don’t know you have one. All of us procrastinate so it doesn’t seem like a problem but realizing that I am afraid to fail is deeper than just finishing an assignment.

I have always been very smart when it comes to tackling a big project. I always break it down into little steps that make the task more manageable. This is one thing from the module that I already do often. I work with my boss on knew projects and he often gets stressed by the amount of work that needs to be done. I am always writing him out a list of things that need to get done. This seems to help him and I out a lot and makes it virtually stress free.

Making a calendar with a list of everything I need to get done will help me tremendously to complete my tasks. Like I said before I make daily lists out of the things I need to get done, so doing it on a broader spectrum will help me to really visualize every thing I need to complete. I know we all like to push stuff off. I enjoy going to get dinner and drinks with my friends every now and again so just visually seeing when I am able to take a day off from assignments or work will be very helpful.

The advice I would give to future students is make the calendar or to-do list. It will be less stressful for you in the days and weeks to come. It will give you a sense of fulfillment once you’ve completed all of your tasks. Also, never be afraid of failure. I am realizing this later than I should of. We all will fail from time to time but just like other negative events in our life, we will learn something from it. Life is all about trial and error, so don’t get down on yourself on the rainy days. Learn to dance in the rain!
