More Columbus Exploration
The remainder of my experiences consisted of visiting local coffee shops. The two that we visited were Mission Coffee and Fox in the Snow. I personally much preferred the Fox in the Snow coffee shop to the Mission Coffee shop, mainly because of the wider rage of the menu. Fox in the Snow included a variety of pastries and many more drinks. They were a little on the pricy side but after getting my order I thought it was definitely worth the money. I was able to get a bacon egg and spinach sandwich and a spiced apple cider, whereas the Mission Coffee shop only had coffee and tea available with a slim selection of bagels. They were also very small and had no spare seating by the time we arrived so we had to get our drinks to go, not really leaving us time to relax and enjoy the place. The Fox in the Snow was on the smaller side as well, but had plenty of seating, fast service and extremely friendly staff that were more than willing to help me figure things out as it was my first visit. The seating even extended to the outdoors which was great for the 60 degree weather we were having that day. The Fox in the Snow was by far my favorite experience this semester since it included great food, wasn’t terribly hard to get to, and was overall a very cozy atmosphere. Throughout this experience, I learned to better navigate the bus system and I realized it wasn’t so scary to travel the city, like I initially feared. While walking from place to place, I also realized there were many more local shops that I would like to explore, which I would not have even known about if I was not out looking for places on the Columbus To-Do List. I would recommend the market we visited to a friend, and I would like to go back and get a better look as well. They had many products I have never seen anywhere else that I would enjoy trying, and their prices weren’t bad at all. I would also highly recommend the Fox in the Snow and have even thought about asking my mom to visit there when she next comes down to Columbus. I think both places have a lot to offer and include something for everyone.
