Takeaways from this class

From this seven-week online classes, I learned a lot about how to use technologies to assist my academic work properly and also how to take online class successfully. I feel that it is really fortunate that I choose this course to take since all of my courses are moved online due to the outbreak of COVID-19. If I didn’t take this course, I may feel helpless for the rest of this semester because I have no idea how to succeed in all of my online courses.

The three most important takeaways from this course are:

1.How to set my SMART goals
After reading the article about how to set my SMART goals, I feel it is really useful for me because it tells us how to set the goals which will be most effective. Besides, setting the SMART goals can make it easier for me to follow the goal I set rather than set a conventional goal, and it will be easier for me to achieve that goal in the end.
2. Use proper study technologies
A good learning technology can maximize our learning efficiency. However, there are different technologies to be designed for different people, and we need to decide what kind of learning tools are most suitable for us according to our learning preference. The study manager and Trello mentioned in this course are both good learning tools.
3. Always plan ahead
Write down your study schedule for the following week in advance. The advantage of doing this is that you can have a listed schedule for all of your assignments or exams for the next week, so you don’t need to panic as the deadline approaches. At the end of the week, it’s a good way to check if there are any missed tasks.
