- The user must first power on their Proteus.
- Once the Proteus is powered on the screen will display a welcome message. The user should press one of the buttons on the left button board to continue.
- After the user chooses to continue the user will be prompted to choose between an easy and a hard difficulty. The user should press the left button on the left button board to select the easy difficulty(4X4), and the user should press the right button the left button board to select the hard difficulty(6X6).
- After the user selects a difficulty the board will be created, and the user will be asked to decide whether to flag or click a cell, then the user will select the column and row of the cell that the user wishes to select. First the user will select the column by pressing a button. The buttons correspond to columns 1-6 from left to right on the Proteus. Then the user will select a row using the buttons, and the buttons correspond to rows 1-6 from left to right on the Proteus. Row 1 Column 1 is in the top left corner of the board. If the user chose to flag the cell an f will be placed in the cell, if the user chose to click a cell, the game will check whether or not there is a bomb in the cell. If the cell doesn’t contain a bomb the number of adjacent bombs to that cell will be placed in the cell. If the cell contains a bomb the game ends.
- Upon completion of the game the user will be asked if he or she wishes to quit or play again. Pressing the left button on the left button board will select “play again,” and pressing the right button on the left button board will select “quit.” If play again is selected the user will be taken to the select difficulty screen. If quit is selected the program will be terminated.
