MineSweeper
The pursuit of new technology has led to many new forms of entertainment. The market for leisure games has been revolutionized by the growth of video games. New gaming systems and video games are continuously made and upgraded. The FEH Proteus is the latest and greatest way to play any video game!
MAVCO, a major video game publisher, has tasked Jeremiah Vannest and Arjun Pandya, a team of OSU students, with creating a prototype game that is compatible with the FEH Proteus. To accomplish this, we decided to re-create MineSweeper: a classic single-player game designed to test the logic skills of the player. Below is a link to the project proposal we created to help plan our final product.
FEH Proteus: The latest hand-held video game console!
We planned to implement many of the same aspects found on the original MineSweeper game which was created by the Microsoft Corporation in 1989. This included the ability to replay the game, a selection menu to see the credits and instructions, the ability to see the user’s statistics, randomly generated mines for each new game, and notification of the number of mines adjacent to the selected locations. Additionally, we planned to include the ability to select the difficulty level of the game based on the size of the minefield and the number of mines as well as adding color and sound effects for winning and losing.
