Performance Test 3 required the robot to start at the starting position, pick up the wrench, deposit it in the garage and then touch the wheel for bonus [1]. The robot was very consistent in picking up the wrench by using magnets. However, the robot had difficulty correctly navigating to the garage to deposit the wrench. Anytime the robot hit a bump or inconsistency in the course, it would fail to drop off the wrench. Despite this, the robot successfully completed Performance Test 3 on the first try on March 7, 2018. The takeaway for Performance Test 3 was that the group would need to find a way to deal with inconsistencies on courses.
