Meeting Agendas

Below are the agendas for each team meeting to date. These contain information regarding member announcements, deliverables, due dates, meeting times, and future meeting dates. They are listed in reverse chronological order. We understand that no one wants to take the time and storage to download every single one of our agendas, so we recommend that you view the meeting minutes and design schedule to gain a general understanding of what was happening throughout the course of the project. Just so that you are not left in the dark with the need to download one of these Microsoft Word links, a template for our agendas has been embedded below. Enjoy.

 

Agenda 61 – 4/25/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the final report and e-journal were submitted. Additionally, this marked the team’s last meeting as Leeroy Jenkins.

Agenda 60 – 4/24/16 (5:30 PM – 10:05 PM)

  • During this meeting, the final report was compiled and proofread. Additionally, the report was bounded.

Agenda 59 – 4/20/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the team gave its oral presentation and listened to other teams’ presentations about their robot design projects.

Agenda 58 – 4/19/16 (5:15 PM – 7:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, the speech’s dialogue and timing were practiced in order to perform better tomorrow.

Agenda 57 – 4/18/16 (8:30 PM – 10:30 PM)

  • During this meeting, the oral presentation was finished and practiced.

Agenda 56 – 4/18/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, sample slides for the oral report were tested on HI 214’s computers and another graphics assignment was worked on.

Agenda 55 – 4/17/16 (7:15 PM – 8:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, the oral presentation was discussed and a graphics assignment was completed as a team.

Agenda 54 – 4/14/16 (9:00 PM – 10:30 PM)

  • During this meeting, the working drawing set was discussed and assignments were made to each member regarding the oral report.

Agenda 53 – 4/09/16 (10:00 AM – 6:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, the team competed in the final competition. The team placed second in pool play and second overall.

Agenda 52 – 4/08/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the drive while turn function was implemented into the final competition run. Additionally, discussions among the team were made regarding responsibilities for who was bring what to the competition.

Agenda 51 – 4/07/16 (1:15 PM – 10:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, more failsafe code was worked on for the final competition. Additionally, an effort was made and was successful to complete perfect runs. Also, a new drive while turning function was worked on in an effort to look cool and improve time.

Agenda 50 – 4/06/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the SolidWorks model of the robot was worked on and preparations were made for the final competition. This included developing more failsafe code at major parts of the course.

Agenda 49 – 4/04/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the SolidWorks model of the robot was worked on and the robot was redesigned to fit inside of the 9″ by 9″ by 12″ box required for the competition.

Agenda 48 – 4/02/16 (1:40 PM – 4:20 PM)

  • During this meeting, tests were performed in response to the results of the individual competition. This included fixing issues at the top of both the main ramp and temporary access ramp and lining up with the supplies.

Agenda 47 – 4/01/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the individual competition was completed. Our robot won its class, scoring one perfect run and two above 90 point runs.

Agenda 46 – 3/31/16 (7:40 PM – 10:35 PM)

  • During this meeting, final preparations were made for the individual competition. This included establishing a pre-run checklist and list of kill scenarios during the competition.

Agenda 45 – 3/30/16 (7:20 PM – 9:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, tests were performed in preparation for the individual competition. Additionally, the SolidWorks model of the robot was worked on. Lastly, code was worked for implementing a particular course’s RPS values at particular time in the pre-run.

Agenda 44 – 3/30/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the individual competition code was worked on. Also, work was begun on the SolidWorks model of the robot. Additionally, poor wiring connections were soldered again in an effort to prevent electrical shorting.

Agenda 43 – 3/28/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, tests were performed in preparation for the individual competition. Also, the acrylic mount, which had a cemented joint break was fixed.

Agenda 42 – 3/25/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, tests were performed in preparation for the individual competition. Efforts were made to reduce time on the run and increase consistency using RPS checks and creating shortcuts of motion for if a particular case is met.

Agenda 41 – 3/24/16 (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, tests were performed in preparation for the individual competition. The robot was able to complete a perfect run, except it missed the final button. See the testing log for full details.

Agenda 40 – 3/23/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the issues with motor 4 were solved. The motor terminal connection was not screwed in fully, so it was not actual wired to the Proteus, so it was unable to receive power. Once this was completed, the robot was successfully able to complete the test. Additionally, strategy alterations were made. The short arm was moved to the checkerboard side of the robot, and the arms were both reinforced. This would allow for less rotating and more consistent switch toggling.

Agenda 39 – 3/22/16 (5:30 PM – 6:45 PM)

  • During this meeting, the team worked on the code and strategy for Performance Test 4. The robot was successfully able to complete the performance test during the runs, however, there was one major issue. Motor 4 did not work on occasion, and it was unclear why. This must be accounted for in the next meeting.

Agenda 38 – 3/21/16 (5:20 PM – 9:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, the team worked on the performance test 4 code. This included picking up the supplies, navigating to the fuel buttons, and pressing the correct fuel button. More work still needs to be done.

Agenda 37 – 3/21/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the team worked on the code and strategy for Performance Test 4. This included adding in checks for RPS position and heading and moving to the fuel buttons after picking up the supplies.

Agenda 36 – 3/11/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the team worked on the algorithm for turning with the RPS with the Crayola Bot so that it could be applied to our robot. Additionally, we prepared to turn up for spring break.

Agenda 35 – 3/09/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the team successfully completed the performance test, and RPS turning and navigation was worked on.

Agenda 34 – 3/08/16 (5:45 PM – 9:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, the servo idea was completed and navigation for the Performance Test on Friday was worked on. Hopefully, we will be ready to go tomorrow.

Agenda 33 – 3/07/16 (5:30 PM – 9:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, the wood locking idea for the arm was scrapped, and the team moved to a servo motor and magnet idea.

Agenda 32 – 3/07/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, hole cutouts were made for the dumbbell arm. Additionally, the wood hold for the arm was machined. Also, the testing log section of the electronic report was worked on to more closely match that which would go in the final report.

Agenda 31 – 3/06/16 (7:30 PM – 8:30 PM)

  • During this meeting, comments on other groups final report drafts were discussed and improvements for our final report draft were discussed and planned to be implemented.

Agenda 30 – 3/06/16 (1:30 PM – 3:30 PM)

  • During this meeting, all attachments were added with the exception of the supplies arm. This includes the base for the supplies arm, QR mount, checkerboard with PVC spacers, and a new Proteus location.

Agenda 29 – 3/05/16 (1:25 PM – 5:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, holes were drilled for the checkerboard, QR code mount, and dumbbell arm, spacers were made to get the height of the checkerboard, and a new Proteus orientation was discussed. Additionally, the remaining design schedule for the dumbbell arm was established.

Agenda 28 – 3/05/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the QR code mount was completed, preliminary tests for navigating with RPS were completed (see testing log), and additional plans for the remainder of the deliverables were established.

Agenda 27 – 3/04/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the QR code mount was completed, preliminary tests for navigating with RPS were completed (see testing log), and additional plans for the remainder of the deliverables were established.

Agenda 26 – 3/02/16 (10:15 PM – 12:15 AM)

  • During this meeting, a design critique of the current design and its progress was completed, and designs were discussed for mounting shaft encoders and the QR Code. A SolidWorks model of the QR mount was prepared and discussed prior to the meeting. Additionally, plans were made to complete the remainder of the peer review assignment with feedback for other groups.

Agenda 25 – 3/02/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the temporary QR mount was worked on, adding right angle locks with hot glue. Additionally, the second performance test was completed. See the code and performance test sections of the website for full details. Additionally, deliverables were assigned through to Monday to prepare for the next performance test.

Agenda 24 – 2/29/16 (5:20 PM – 9:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, the arms were worked on for Performance Test 2, where the toggle switches needed to be pushed forward or backward. Additionally, the code for the navigation of the course was worked on.

Agenda 23 – 2/29/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, Exploration 03 was nearly completed. This exploration explored the uses of the RPS, or robot positioning system, for heading and location information.

Agenda 22 – 2/26/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the performance test with the stretch bonus was successfully completed. Discussions were made for switch toggle and checkerboard placement. Shaft encoding was also discussed in more detail and deliverables were discussed for the weekend.

Agenda 21 – 2/25/16 (7:00 PM – 10:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, full preparations for the performance test were made, algorithms were worked on for the switch toggling (performance test 2), and the shaft encoders were discussed. Additionally, R09-1 was worked on as a group.

Agenda 20 – 2/24/16 (6:45 PM – 8:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, the outlook for R09-1 was discussed including timeline for completion and content placement. Plans were made to round the edges of the PVC to prevent cutting. Also, erector supports to be hot glued to acrylic tonight.

Agenda 19 – 2/24/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, tests were conducted to figure out the CdS readings for red, blue, full, and no light. It was discovered that the wires were not properly insulated. This was addressed. Early performance tests were attempted, but not successful. See testing log for more details.

Agenda 18 – 2/23/16 (7:30 PM – 9:00 PM)

  • During this meeting, tests were conducted to make sure that the bump switches and CdS cell were soldered and wired correctly. Also, some tests were done for maneuverability in terms of the performance test, but these were not successful.

Agenda 17 – 2/22/16 (5:20 PM – 8:15 PM)

  • During this meeting, the tests were conducted on the maneuverability of the current state of the robot, shaft collars were added to the axles to keep the wheels in place, and soldering was performed on electrical components.

Agenda 16 – 2/22/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the final report outline was completed, the code for the performance test was worked on, the acrylic pieces of the chassis were cemented, and a guest speaker gave a presentation on smart coding.

Agenda 15 – 2/19/16 (5:20 PM – 6:30 PM)

  • During this meeting, more work was done on the pseudocode/flowchart, and a timeline for work was established.

Agenda 14 – 2/19/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the e-journal was checked, an active budget was created, the VEX 393 motors were purchased, and the acrylic chassis was cemented together.

Agenda 13 – 2/17/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the team made the move to different options for the dumbbell arm and drivetrain, and shaft encoding and optosensor line following were explored.

Agenda 12 – 2/16/16 (9:30 PM – 11:30 PM)

  • During this meeting, a potential idea for the dumbbell arm was discussed, a rough budget was made, and more plans for pseudcode work were made.

Agenda 11 – 2/15/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the major components of the robot were made, plans were made to finish the drivetrain calculations, major issues with the dumbbell arm and drivetrain ideas were discovered, and the pseudocode was begun.

Agenda 10 – 2/14/16 (6:30 PM – 9:05 PM)

  • During this meeting, the physical form of the mockup was completed, and plans were made for the completion of the SolidWorks mockup.

Agenda 9 – 2/13/16 (7:00 PM – 8:45 PM)

  • During this meeting, part of the drivetrain calculations were completed, and plans were made for the completion of the remainder of the calculations.

Agenda 8 – 2/12/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the team explored bump switches, motors, and light sensors. Individual abstracts were assigned, course measurements were taken, and a plan was made for the remainder of the physical and SolidWorks mockups.

Agenda 7 – 2/11/16 (10:50 AM – 1:45 PM)

  • During this meeting, the chassis and drivetrain of the physical mockup were nearly completed.

Agenda 6 – 2/10/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the Proteus, sensor kit, and tool starter kit were received. Also, primary roles were assigned for the project as a whole, and a plan was made for the completion of the mockups.

Agenda 5 – 2/8/16 (8:30 PM – 10:32 PM)

  • During this meeting, the current state of the website was displayed, the tasks needed to complete R03 (the initial brainstorming process) were assigned, the beginning of the design schedule was addressed, and the team agreed upon the VEX omnidirectional wheels.

Agenda 4 – 2/7/16 (1:37 PM – 3:35 PM)

  • During this meeting, the screening matrices were completed, the format for the e-journal was discussed, and more brainstorming discussion occurred for the robot.

Agenda 3 – 2/5/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, the team continued working on the screening matrices, examined the course, and looked at materials from the FEH Store, including magnets and PVC sheets.

Agenda 2 – 2/4/16 (9:15 PM – 11:03 PM)

  • During this meeting, the Team Working Agreement was completed, and the screening matrices for all of the ideas was completed.

Agenda 1 – 2/3/16 (8:00 AM – 10:05 AM)

  • During this meeting, introductions were made, the team crest was completed, the Team Working Agreement was begun, and brainstorming ideas were discussed.
