Final Report

This page is dedicated to the final report for the robot. This includes the final budget, final SolidWorks images, final sketches and more. It’s a rather lengthy document, but we think that you will have a really fun time if you read it. If you do not wish to read it, PowerPoint slides are provided in the sub-page for the Final Report section. These should serve as a pretty good summary of the information in the report. If you find the slides interesting, then maybe it’s time you check out the full 190 page report! It’s pretty neat. 🙂

Older Drafts

Creating this final draft was not an easy process, and it took multiple attempts to achieve this high quality draft that you see above. To show you that practice makes perfect, we have included our older drafts below. I guess you could say that we had to start from the bottom to get here…

Below, the final outline template can be viewed. This was the preliminary structure that the team wanted the final report to follow. The purpose of it was make the formatting and general process of writing the full report easier.

Additionally, multiple report drafts were produced in an effort to fine tune the final product of the report. The first draft was subject to peer evaluation by other groups in the class, and it was intended to allow groups to gain value feedback and see what writing strategies other groups were employing. This was very beneficial in understanding what was readable to someone who was familiar with the scenario, but not necessarily our team’s robot in general. A copy of this first draft is given below.

The next draft was intended to make improvements based on these comments and develop a more fine-tuned report. Additionally, the Analysis, Testing, and Refinements section of the report was written based on the results of testing on the course. A full copy of the testing log is available under the Testing Log subsection of this website. A copy of the report at this stage is available below.

The third draft of the report was intended to continue making improvements and make a full draft of the entire report. This report included a full description of the final design of the robot, using images and CAD drawings to communicate this information. Additionally, it contains information regarding the individual and final competitions, such as strategy and a few results.

The final draft of the report is also available below. The major sections of this report are as follows: Introduction, Preliminary Concepts, Analysis, Testing, and Refinements, Individual Competition, Final Design, Final Competition, and Summary and Conclusions.
