About Fé

Fé Beatty (they/them), is a storyteller focusing on musical theatre. They love combining different art forms, meeting members of their artistic community, and making new works within that joyful space of collaboration. Their work primarily focuses on creative nonfiction, exploration of the imagination, and figuring out ways that their art can change people’s minds.

At Ohio State, Fé is a Music Composition major with a background in Classical Guitar, and is double majoring in Creative Writing. With my two minors in Dance and Theatre, Fé brings a complex and nuanced approach to creative community with their strong academic experience in contemporary theatre, music, dance, visual arts, and English. It is in this interdisciplinary space that they thrive.

Fé is also a research curator (Kawsay Waqaychaqkuna) with OSU’s Andean and Amazonian Indigenous Art and Cultural Artifacts Research Collection, Kawsay Ukhunchay, working with students from high school to graduate school. They are currently writing a children’s book inspired by Andean storytelling in weavings and oral traditions.

Additionally, Fé is an Arts Scholar, an OSU’s Blackbox Series participant, performs the occasional drag show, and recently music directed for the 2024 show “The Faithful Shepherdess” with the English Department’s Lord Denny’s Players as well as starring as Perigot.

After their time at Ohio State, Fé plans to pursue graduate school in Drama, and keep pursuing that subtle fiery feeling that the art they create makes the world a bit more livable.
