Our Mission

As a city looking to move forward with the changing times, Columbus is looking at ways to transform their transportation system. Here at Division L, our mission is to design the most efficient and least costly autonomous electric vehicle. We hope to create a system that allows people that normally would struggle to find a way of transportation, an opportunity to access the work and resources around them. Doing so, they would be able to improve their own lifestyles and those of others around them.  When creating the AEV, we aspire to design the quickest, safest, and most environmentally friendly means of transporting these people.

Our first step to approaching the AEV will be to examine the constraints at which the AEV must follow. These would include, but are not limited to, the prices of the parts, the weight of the vehicle, and the safety in running it. The next step would be for each member to brainstorm an initial idea for the design and then come together as a group to combine ideas. From there, the AEV will be built and tested through various experiments in lab. This will lead to editing the design based on further research and the results of the experiments. A final design will then be created which, being tweaked when necessary, until it runs successfully. Once this is done, a final check will be in place to make sure the vehicle still fits the constraints and will then be presented to the company as a whole.
