Lab 7 – Oral Presentations

Lab Summary

The group presented their Preliminary Design report to the class. Each member was given a certain task. These tasks included, making the PowerPoint, creating a script, designating roles and making sure the contest was appropriate. The group focused on sharing aspects of their group that would be different to other groups. The audience of this presentation was already well-educated on the topic. The group practiced their presentation before class and agreed to memorize their script and dress business casual. This week the group succeed in team working aspects and their physical AEV. Team working aspects included meeting outside of class to practice and plan the oral presentation.

Takeaways

A takeaway from the past week involved the oral presentations. The lab group noticed that other lab group did not acknowledge that the audience was already well-educated on the topic and assignment they were talking about. This emphasized to the lab group that the presenters should always considered their audience before they begin the planning of their presentation. The team also learned that practice and confidence make for the best presentations. The lab group was confident in their teammates and themselves because of the all the practice before class. The practice was crucial to the success of their oral presentation.
