Conduct interview #1 with a potential user PRIOR to development
We interviewed OSU Freshman Maddie Graziosi
- What are some games you have played recently?
- Recently I have been playing Pocket Frogs on my phone as well as subway surfers
- What are some games you might enjoy playing on MATLAB?
- Basic card games like go fish or a board game like candy land or The game of life
- In your opinion what is the optimal length a game should take to play?
- 10-15 minutes for a board game or 5 minutes tops for a card game
- What aspects of a game make it enjoyable to you to play?
- The graphics and logic aspects of the game. I enjoy it when it requires me to think about what I am going to do before I do it
Conduct interview #2 with a user after beta testing (must be different person than #1)
The second person to be interviewed was OSU Freshman Eli Rager
- What are some games you have played recently?
- I have always loved playing Clash of Clans and subway surfers.
- What are some games you might enjoy playing on MATLAB?
- Any game with strategy I think would be interesting. I do love playing blackjack and games that involve gambling.
- In your opinion what is the optimal length a game should take to play?
- Depends on the type of game but for a Matlab game probably no more than 3 minutes.
- What aspects of a game make it enjoyable to you to play?
- I enjoy when they give lots of opinions of what moves I can make next.
- When playing this game, which aspects did you enjoy?
- (Eli only played connect 4) I think the graphics are good and I think how to instructions are changing at the top. Displaying the winner was also a nice touch.
- When playing this game, what changes would you recommend?
- I accidentally pressed off the top numbers 1-7 and I think it would be better if the game didn’t crash and require a restart when that happens.
