HOW TO PLAY:

In this version of Blackjack, players take on the house to try and beat the card value of the dealer without going over 21. At the beginning of the round, players are served two cards face up, and the dealer receives one card face up and one card face down. Number cards are worth their numerical value. Face cards are worth 10. Aces are worth 11 or 1 (Player’s choice). Players, on their turn, have the decision to stand, or ‘hit’ until they decide to stand. If a player is dealt a ‘blackjack’ (ace and a card of value 10) then the player instantly exits the round and wins 1.5x their bet. Hitting consists of the dealer taking a card off the top deck and delivering face up to the dealer, whose value is added to the player’s total. Players must be careful, because going up over 21 will cause a bust and an instant loss, even if the dealer themselves busts.  A player’s turn ends when they bust, hit a blackjack, or decide to stand. After every player goes, the dealer’s phase begins. The dealer will flip up their face down card and make a decision to hit or stand based on the flipped up card value, with the ace always being considered an 11 (for choice purposes). If the value is 17 or higher, the dealer must stand. If the value is 16 or lower, the dealer must hit. If the dealer goes over 21, then they bust and everyone who hasn’t busted or blackjacked receives 2x their bet. The dealer may revert aces to ones to prevent busts, though. If dealer does not bust, then dealer value is compared to each player value that is still in the round (has not blackjacked or busted). If the player value is higher, player is award 2x their bet. If not, the house keeps the bet and player receives nothing. Game ends after all money is distributed.
