Identify the intended audience for your game

Kids 12 and up are our intended audience! We interviewed Dean.

Conduct interview #1 with a potential user PRIOR to development (Dean)

  1. What are some games you have played recently?
    1. “Random phone game. Minecraft. Card games such as slap jack and speed. “
  2. What are some games you might enjoy playing on MATLAB?
    1. ” Card games that you don’t need many people to play, so either versus a computer or with only 2 people.”
  3. In your opinion what is the optimal length a game should take to play?
    1. “5 minutes tops. “
  4. What aspects of a game make it enjoyable to you to play?
    1. ” Challenge and ease. Challenge to get through but not too hard to win in the fact that it takes less than 5 minutes to play with a gratifying feeling at the end.”

Conduct interview #2 with a user after beta testing (Mohamed)

  1. What are some games you have played recently?

“I typically play Mobile games. Racing mostly. I enjoy the drifting aspect of the mobile games.”

  1. What are some games you might enjoy playing on MATLAB?

“I believe that I would like short, sweet, and simple games. Also, the games gotta be short on time and not take much effort to learn.”

  1. In your opinion what is the optimal length a game should take to play?

“A game should take less than 15 minutes to complete.”

  1. What aspects of a game make it enjoyable to you to play?

“It should be something you enjoy coming back to, something that you can play more than once.”

  1. When playing this game, which aspects did you enjoy?

“Well, I liked that fact that it was interactive..!”

  1. When playing this game, what changes would you recommend?

“Maybe making the game a bit more complex? Adding some sort of additional interaction would be nice.”
