A. User Identification and Interviews

The intended audience for our game that will be developed is people of all ages and with all different interests.  We want the game to be versatile and enjoyed by all.

Conduct interview #1 with a potential user PRIOR to development

  1. What are some games you have played recently?
    • Euchre, civilization, CoD, Doodle Jump, Minecraft
  2. What are some games you might enjoy playing on MATLAB?
    • Poker, civilization, checkers
  3. In your opinion what is the optimal length a game should take to play?
    • Around 5 minutes
  4. What aspects of a game make it enjoyable to you to play?
    • Works well (no bugs), possibly has money involved, and interactive

Conduct interview #2 with a user after beta testing (must be different person than #1)

  1. What are some games you have played recently?
    • NBA 2K, Super Smash Bros., NHL
  2. What are some games you might enjoy playing on MATLAB?
    • CoD, CS Go, 2K (if possible)
  3. In your opinion what is the optimal length a game should take to play?
    • 30 minutes or shorter
  4. What aspects of a game make it enjoyable to you to play?
    • Competitive, story background, options to be chosen for characters
  5. When playing this game, which aspects did you enjoy?
    • Enjoyed combat mechanics, graphics looked good, interesting storyline, tutorial was helpful
  6. When playing this game, what changes would you recommend?
    • Having more options could be helpful, fixing combat issues
