The intended audience for our game is:

Ages 8 and up

 

Interview #1 with potential users PRIOR to development

  1. What games have you played recently?
    • Alexis: Uno, monopoly, candy crush, and Mario cart.
    • Nicolas: Uno and Yahtzee
    • Cohen: blackjack, Tetris, and Pac-man
  2. What game might you enjoy playing in MATLAB?
    • Alexis: poker
    • Nicolas: card and dice games
    • Cohen: blackjack with multiple players and betting/ Tetris or Pac-man with different difficulties.
  3. What is the optimal length of a game?
    • Alexis: 30 min to an hour
    • Nicolas: 2 – 5 min
    • Cohen: short enough to play in-between classes
  4. What makes a game fun?
    • Alexis: When its challenging and fun.
    • Nicolas: A.I / multiplayer / visual reward
    • Cohen: good graphics, sound effects, simple/intuitive controls, difficulty levels, half luck half skill, and challenging enough that you win sometimes.
  5. Who would you prefer to play against?
    • Alexis: with a computer
    • Nicolas: with other people
    • Cohen: with a computer of with other people

    • Patrick: minecraft
  2. What are some games you might enjoy playing on MATLAB?
    • Patrick: Battleship, hangman and connect four.
  3. In your opinion what is the optimal length a game should take to play?
    • Patrick: 5 min
  4. What aspects of a game make it enjoyable to you to play?
    • Patrick: challenging and replay-ability
  5. When playing this game, which aspects did you enjoy?
    • Patrick: The graphics ( Brutus )
  6. When playing this game, what changes would you recommend?
    • Patrick: Make it so it won’t let you guess the same letter twice.
