The precise origin of Connect 4 is not known aside from an allusion to the famous pirate Captain Cook, but its ubiquity in modern games is undeniable, much like Blackjack. There are a variety of four-in-a-row games, but Connect 4 is arguably the most recognizable as the game made by Hasbro. In order to make the two games even more accessible, a version of both was designed in Matlab as an exercise in programming and as a way to apply the skills learned in Matlab to something more interactive and tangible.
