MATLAB is a powerful tool that can be used to program games and other simple programs. Four games were made on MATLAB. The people who worked on these games were Alec Pellicciotti, Lexie Thompson, Kayla Hepler, and Kevin Neutzling. These games were Connect Four, Over Under, Rock Paper Scissors, and What are the Odds.
Connect Four is a two-player game where players alternate placing chips two different colored chips into a board. The players play until one player has connected four same colored chips- either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Once a player wins, or, in a strange case, the players tie, the game is ended.
Over Under is a single player gambling game that involves two dice. The user begins will $100 and they bet a certain amount of money. The dice are rolled and the dice’s rolls are added together. Before the roll, the user enters if they think the roll will be over seven, under seven, or exactly equal to seven. If the user guesses correctly, they win money. If they guess incorrectly, they lose money. The user can continue to play until they quit or lose all their money.
Rock paper scissors is a player versus computer game where the user enters rock, paper, or scissors and is competing against the computer. The game loops until the user quits and at the end, the score of the user and computer is displayed.
What are the odds is a general game that gives you a set of bets that must be completed if the user and computer both guess the same number. The user can play until they quit.
