Fairfield County Cattlemen’s Association earns Outstanding County Award

In recognition of 30+ years of support for the beef cattle industry!

Congratulations to the Fairfield County Cattlemen’s Association on recently receiving the Outstanding County Award! In their press release, the OCA said it like this . . .

(MARYSVILLE, Ohio) – The Ohio Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) awarded the Fairfield County Cattlemen’s Association the 2021 Outstanding County Award. This award was sponsored by Ohio Corn & Wheat.

The Outstanding County award is OCA’s opportunity to recognize the outstanding achievement, industry education and consumer promotion efforts of counties from across the state. Activities, participation in OCA events, communication efforts, support of industry youth and a cohesive partnership are all areas of focus for award recognition.

The Fairfield County Cattlemen’s Association  leadership prioritizes their  fundraiser efforts  on youth development activities and programs.

Over the past 22 years approximately $30,000 in scholarships have been awarded to exhibitors with an interest in youth beef projects.  Today, many of those adults are involved in a variety of beef related activities and vocations that will continue their learning and promotion of the Beef Industry.  The Fairfield County Cattlemen are  very proud of their investment in youth.

Each year they help to organize and sponsor a pee wee showmanship class,  host a rate of gain and  carcass contest at the Fairfield County Fair as well as support the beef exhibitors during the Junior  Fair Livestock Auction.   The group is well-known in the community for their educational and beef promotional programs including the annual chili cook off and activities with the Lancaster High School Culinary Arts program.
