Special Needs 4-H Camp

The following information is regarding the 2016 Special Needs 4-H Camp.  The Camp is offered to individuals in Ohio who would not typically be able to attend camp, and their families.  Please share this information with your clientele. Click here for the 2016 Special Needs Camp Registration Packet. The camp will be held at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp in Jackson, Ohio during the weekend of June 17-19, 2016.

Also, they are looking for older 4-H members to apply and serve as Camp Counselors at the event.  The application can be found here Special Needs Camp Counselor Application –  and is due by April 1st.

State 4-H Leadership Camp Staff Needed

  • Counselors and adult staff needed!
  • Applications can be found online at http://www.ohio4h.org/camp/leadership-camp
  • Individuals 18+ who are good leaders, past counselors, or interested in helping
  • Must complete application, undergo selection, and attain a background check
  • Required to participate in some trainings prior to camp, including May 20-22 and July 4 (both at Camp Ohio)–this is not negotiable.

Additional Camp Counselor Training Opportunities

If any camp counselors missed the MXC training in February and is looking for additional opportunities beyond Fairfield County, it’s not too late to register for the Counselor College being held at Canter’s Cave 4-H Camp on March 19 and 20. PLEASE NOTE: These opportunities do not take the place of required training scheduled within the Fairfield County 4-H program They are meant to supplement and give youth a broader experience to learn new things. If interested, please let Leslie know you would like to check into this.

Tar Hollow Camp Staff Positions Available!

The Ross-Hocking Extension Camp Association is currently accepting applications for volunteer and paid positions at Tar Hollow 4-H Camp. The 2016 camping season begins on June 7th and runs through July 14th. Open positions are available for Camp Manager, Lifeguards, Waterfront Director, Naturalist, Recreation Director, Canteen Director, Crafts Director, and Kitchen Staff. Applicants must be age 16 or older. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Extension Office or emailing Leslie Cooksey at cooksey.25@osu.edu if interested!
