All 4-H and FFA Horse Exhibitors should have already turned in (by way of their advisors) the Junior Fair Entry Form to the Senior Fair Office by August 28th.
The next thing we need you to complete is the Junior Fair Horse Show Class Entry Form. This form has been changed following the schedule changes of the 2020 Junior Fair Horse Show. This form is due to the Senior Fair Office by 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10th.
All 4-H members (excluding Cloverbuds) should have received an email from Stacy Hicks on Tuesday, June 16th that shares an overview of 4-H project completion. Families with multiple 4-H members should receive multiple emails personalized to each member. We are asking that all 4-H members reply to the survey so we can continue making plans for summer judging. We have decided to extend the deadline for response to this email to Sunday, June 21st. Please refer to the email you received for a link to follow and complete the survey to help us plan for judging this year. The survey will take less than 30 seconds to complete. If you have any questions, please contact the office at 740-653-5419. If you did not see an email with this survey link, please let us know (and be sure to check your junk/spam folders in your email).

Attention 4-H Horse Advisors and Members,
During the COVID-19 emergency, there are no options for 4-H horse kids to show their horses. Huron County Horse Council has created an online Virtual Horse Show. All 4-H horse project members are welcome to participate. Please share this information with members in your county.
Basic Information: The Virtual Horse Show is a Facebook group that offers classes, patterns and a real judge! Kids pay a small fee of $5 per class to help cover the judge’s fees. All remaining funds are earmarked for our new horse barn fund, Build the Barn.
Participants are not required to dress up or take their horses anywhere. All they need is a yard and someone to take a video. To participate in the show, one does not need to have a Facebook account, only an email. Participants email their entry forms to huroncountyvirtualshow@gmail.com
Awards: 1st place receives a $5 credit for the next show to apply to a class. We have many sponsors donating prizes for high-point awards at each show as well.

The 2019 Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards were presented recently at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus. 4-H Achievement Awards are the top winner in a particular project area for the state of Ohio.
Twenty-nine 4-H Achievement Award winners will attend the National 4-H Congress with youth from all over the country in November in Atlanta, Georgia.
Winners from Fairfield County were: Gabby Gugliemotto for Horses and and Caroline Mason for Companion Animals.
In addition to the 29 Achievement Award recipients, two 4-H members received awards in each of the following areas: National Dairy Conference Sponsorships, Ohio Township Association Awards and Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board memberships.
The evening was hosted by the Ohio 4-H Foundation. Ohio 4-H is the youth development program of Ohio State University Extension, with more than 156,000 young Ohioans participating in 4-H clubs, groups and special interest programs.

The next 4-H Horse Advisory Meeting will be Tuesday, January 22nd, 2019 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Ag Center. At least one horse advisor per club should strive to attend these meetings throughout the year to stay on top of important updates and requirements regarding the Fairfield County 4-H Horse Program and Fairfield County Junior Fair Horse Program.
