LAST CALL: Speaking Event Contest Sign-ups due June 1st

Speak out and get involved! Improve your public speaking skills. The Fairfield County Speaking Event will be Thursday, June 8th, 2023 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Ag Center. Any 4-H or Cloverbud member can participate. The following events will take place:

  • Individual and Team Demonstrations
  • 4-H Creed Speaking Event
  • 4-H Pledge Speaking Event (Cloverbuds Only)

Earn a chance to also participate in the Ohio State Fair with the Demonstration events!

Registration is due June 1st by calling the Extension Office at 740-653-5419. For questions, contact Leslie Cooksey at cooksey.25@osu.edu.

Cloverbud Opportunity: 4-H Pledge Speaking Event

The Fairfield County Cloverbud Pledge Speaking Event will be Wednesday, June 8th, 2023 starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Ag Center. Any 4-H Cloverbud member can participate. This is a great way to practice public speaking at an early age! We can’t wait to cheer our Cloverbuds on!

4-H Enrollment is Now Open!

We look forward to receiving your enrollments for the 2023 4-H year. All enrollments are due through 4-H Online by April 15, 2023.

New families, please visit https://fairfield.osu.edu/program-areas/4-h-youth-development/4-h-online-information for instructions and a video to help you enroll.  Your club advisors can also help you enroll.

As a reminder, Cloverbud members (age 5-8 and currently in Kindergarten through 2nd grade as of Jan 1, 2022) will enroll in 710GPM or COP-710HC.  Cloverbuds do not enroll in traditional project numbers, as they are a non-competitive, activity based program. Cloverbud members do have the option of purchasing the 715 My Cloverbud Year book to keep track of what they do during the club year.

 

4-H Cloverbud Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 1st!

The Fairfield County Junior Leaders invite Cloverbuds and their family members under the age of 8 to attend the JAS’s Easter EggExtravaganza. This will be held on Saturday, April 1st from 1:00pm-3:00pm (with the Egg Hunt happening at 2:00pm). This FREE event will be held at the Ag Center/Extension Office (831 College Ave, Lancaster). Join us for crafts, animals, games, and an egg hunt.  This event is being held in memory of Cloverbud Advisor, Jane Sharp.

2022 Year End Survey – DUE FRIDAY!

Thank you for participating in Fairfield County 4-H this year! As you finish your thank notes and host your year-end parties, we would like to invite you to provide feedback to help us improve the 4-H program. Please share your thoughts and feedback by completing the End of the Year Survey (go.osu.edu/4Hyearend) by Dec. 16, 2022.

Cloverbud Graduation Video 2022

Cloverbud Graduation is held as part of Cloverbud Day at the Fair. We use that time to recognize Cloverbud members who are ‘graduating’ from the Cloverbud program and will be traditional 4-H members in 2023. As a reminder, all of these activities are optional but members who participated received a gift and are included in the video.  Thank you to the Cloverbud members who participated!

Cloverbud Day at the Fair (October 9th)

Cloverbud Members – Save the Date for Cloverbud Day at the Fair!

Fair is just around the corner so be sure to put these Cloverbud Fair Events on your calendar. As a reminder, all of these activities are optional but members will receive a ribbon or gift for participation.

Cloverbud Day at the Fair: Sunday, Oct 9, 2022, 1:00 p.m. in the Round Cattle Barn

  • Stuffed Animal Show
    • Encourage your members to bring their favorite stuffed animal. Each child will get to enter the ring, share a fun fact about their animal, and have a mini experience of what it’s like to show at the fair.
    • All participants will receive a ribbon.
  • Show-N-Tell
    • This is an opportunity for club members to talk about their year in 4-H. Members are encouraged to bring a project or item from the 4-H year to show and talk about.
    • All participants will receive a ribbon.
    • This show will take place immediately following the Stuffed Animal Show.
    • If you’re interested in attending Show-N-Tell, advisors please email me with number of members participating.
  • Cloverbud Graduation
    • We will be recognizing Cloverbud members who are ‘graduating’ from the Cloverbud program and will be traditional 4-H members in 2023.
    • Members should have received an invitation email and survey to fill out if this applies to them.  If you feel we have missed someone, please let us know.
    • Graduation will follow immediately after Show-N-Tell!
