Join Fairfield County 4-H as a new 4-H Advisors/Volunteer!

Applications, background check AND References are due to the OSU Extension Office by February 1st. Application are available here. New Volunteer Training will take place online through an online course system and must be completed by April 15th. Advisors are needed to support members across the entire county. There are a few clubs that need additional help so potential volunteers can ‘learn the ropes’ and not have the responsibility to take on the entire club or a new club. Dine to Donate: THIS WED, Nov 8 – MOD Pizza

The Fairfield County 4-H Junior Leaders will be hosting a monthly dine to donate fundraiser to raise funds. November’s dine to donate will be a MOD Pizza fundraiser on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 11:00am – 9:00 p.m. at 1854 North Memorial Drive, Lancaster. 50% of your bill will be donated to the 4-H program. Bring in this flyer to the store to get credit for your purchase. DO NOT PASS OUT FLYERS IN OR NEAR THE RESTAURANT – Our fundraising event could be void if this happens.

The Junior Leaders are a countywide teen leadership group that focuses on 4-H community service, leadership, and more! Their big events include planning the Fairfield County 4-H Advisor’s Banquet, a county 4-H Scholarship, and the Bottle Cap Bench Project!

Showmen’s Closet (open Fair Move-In Day at Fair!)

The Fairfield County 4-H Advisory Committee is pleased to continue The Showmen’s Closet on move-in day of fair – Saturday, October 7th from 12-6 p.m. while backtags can be picked up in the Junior Fair Office.

Have items to donate? Bring those with you to help stock our closet. Junior Fair families can spend a lot of money buying new show clothes and boots each year as their children get bigger! To help one another out, we are asking for donations of jeans, show shirts, boots, belts, white jackets that are in good to new condition (no holes please). Items should be clean (including those boots!).

Items will be donated to the 4-H Advisory Committee. Items can be purchased by donation. All proceeds will benefit Fairfield County 4-H events planned and sponsored by the 4-H Advisory Committee.

Lancaster Greenhouse Fundraiser – This Saturday & Sunday

Come support the Fairfield County 4-H Advisory Committee by shopping at the Lancaster Greenhouse and Nursery, September 16th & 17th! Hours for this sale are Saturday, September 16 from 9am-4pm and Sunday, Sept 17 from 11am-4pm.

    • Distribute the coupon below to all family and friends. A whole page of coupons can be found here: Fall Flower Sale Coupons
    • Group supporters will shop as a “normal customer” on the above dates listed.  If we happen to have any current in-store sales and promotions taking place, they will be able to take advantage of those just like a typical customer.
    • At time of checkout, customers will give a copy of the attached coupon to our cashier so we know they are associated with your group and 15% of their transaction will be donated back to your group (not the customer).
    • Absolutely no coupons can be distributed at the store location

 

This is a fundraising event for the 4-H Advisory Committee. The 4-H Advisory Committee supports county 4-H programming for all youth members and adult volunteers including, but not limited to: Awards and banquets, Trips and scholarships, Printing costs, Special programming costs, and more!

Items will be donated to the 4-H Advisory Committee. They will be priced at a reasonable cost for families to purchase at the Junior Fair Skillathons on Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 24th. All proceeds will benefit Fairfield County 4-H events planned and sponsored by the 4-H Advisory Committee.

Club Help Needed: Decorate a Garland

The Fairfield County 4-H Advisory Committee needs a few more clubs to decorate a Holiday Garland for the 4-H Craft & Vendor Show on July 29th. Club Members or Advisors can pick up a garland from Gail Ellinger at Punky’s Tack & Feed Store (5800 Westfall Road, Lancaster). Decorated garlands will be donated back to the Advisory Committee for the Silent Auction that will take place on July 29th from 9am-3pm at the 4-H Craft & Vendor Show.  All funds raised from these garlands will directly benefit the 4-H Program as the advisory committee pays for award banquets, trips, scholarships and more! Thank you to the clubs who have claimed and decorated a garland already.

Shop the 4-H Craft & Vendor Sale on Saturday, July 29th!

Come out and support our vendors at the Fairfield County 4-H Craft & Vendor Sale on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. Vendors will be in the Beef Barn, Ed Sands & AAA Buildings. Get some early Christmas shopping taken care of or just shop for yourself, birthdays, and other special occasions coming up!

There are many activities to participate in that day in addition to shopping from over 130 Vendors: Silent Auction, a DJ, Showmen’s Closet (Resale shop for Show Clothes), SANTA, Crafts for the littles, Perry’s Ice Cream, and The Lancaster Firefighters Toys for Kids Toy Drive.

The event, which will be held at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds in the Ed Sands Building 157 E Fair Ave, Lancaster, OH, will help raise funds for county activities like summer camp, state trips, awards, and so much more in the county.

Club Community Service Opportunity: Toy Drive

4 Legged Friends 4-H Club  is challenging all 4-H Clubs to collect new unwrapped toys to donate to the Lancaster Firefighters Toys for Kids Toy Drive! Club members should work together to collect some of their favorite toys especially games and puzzles to donate to the drive. All items can be dropped off at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds on Saturday, July 29th from 9am-3pm between the Ed Sands & AAA Buildings! Use your ‘Hands for Larger Service’ to help children in our community while competing against your fellow 4-H Clubs. Who is up to the challenge?!

Save the Date: 4-H Craft and Vendor Show is July 29th

It seems like by July we’ll be looking forward to a cool down! Perhaps for one day, we can all think about Christmas! Come join us for our Craft and Vendor Show sponsored by the Fairfield County 4-H Advisory Committee on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds (Ed Sands, AAA Buildings and new for 2023 – we’ll be adding vendors to the Beef Barn). Enjoy some early Christmas shopping, donate a new, unwrapped toy for Firefighters for Kids, and a great lunch from Clearcreek Showmen 4-H Club!

We are currently SOLD OUT of vendor space for 2023. Over 150 vendors are scheduled to participate in this event. Questions can be directed to Cindy Gilfillen at cag8845@gmail.com.

Funds raised support the Fairfield County 4-H Program for county activities like summer camp, state trips, awards, and so much more.
