Today, Junior Fair Director Doug Shell released details for the rapidly approaching Jr. Fair market swine, lamb, goat and dairy feeder check-in.
Swine MQP: Shell is contacting each swine MQP exhibitor directly and will work with them in the coming days to get MQP pigs weighed and check-in.
Pigs checking in for the live show in October: Pigs will be check-in at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 29 between 7 a.m. and Noon. Prior to the 29th exhibitors must tag their pigs with an EID 840 tag unless the pigs already has one. Swine exhibitors should enter the Fairgrounds gate on Fair Avenue with their tagged pigs between 7 a.m. and Noon on June 29 and upon arrival will be directed to follow the traffic line on the left, and proceed into the Ed Sands building. If pigs are being housed at a place other than the exhibitor’s residence, completed housing forms should be submitted on the 29th at check-in. Housing forms may be downloaded here.
Market lambs: Lambs will be checked-in at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 29 between 8 a.m. and Noon. Prior to the 29th exhibitors must tag their lambs with an EID 840 tag unless the lamb already has one. Prior to Friday, June 28 lamb exhibitors are asked to schedule a time for arrival at the Fairgrounds on the 29th by following this link: https://osu.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_1TirBYWqsX4Gg1o. When scheduling on-line, lamb exhibitors will be asked to submit their lamb EID 840 numbers, the scrapie tag numbers and housing information.
Lamb exhibitors should enter the Fairgrounds gate on Fair Avenue with their tagged lambs at their scheduled time between 8 a.m. and Noon on June 29 and will be directed to follow the traffic line on the right, and proceed directly to the Swine Barn on the north side of the grounds. Lambs for MQP will also be weighed at this time.
Market goats: Goats will be checked-in at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 29 between 8 a.m. and Noon. Prior to the 29th exhibitors must tag their goats with an EID 840 tag unless the goat already has one. Dairy beef feeders: Dairy beef feeders will be checked-in at the Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 29 between 8 a.m. and Noon. Prior to the 29th exhibitors must tag their calves with an EID 840 tag unless the calf already has one. Dairy beef feeder exhibitors should enter the Fairgrounds gate off Fair Avenue with their tagged calves and will be directed to follow the traffic line on the right, and proceed directly to the Beef Barn on the north side of the grounds for weigh-in. If calves are being housed at a place other than the exhibitor’s residence, completed housing forms should be submitted on the 29th at check-in. Housing forms may be downloaded here.
