Mandatory Dog Check-In Day and Dog Skillathon is Saturday, August 26th!

Mandatory Dog Check-In Reminder: This is a reminder to those youth enrolled in 201D You and Your Dog for the upcoming Mandatory Dog Check-In Day. Please plan on joining us on Saturday, August 26th starting at 10 am in the Feeder Creek Veterinary Show Arena on the Fairfield County Fairgrounds.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring your completed (as complete as it can be on that date) project book, your dog, your 2023 Fairfield County Dog Project Identification Form and Vaccination Certificate, a water bowl for your dog, a crate for your dog and a chair for you.

Mandatory Dog Check-In Day includes: (Saturday, August 26, 10:00 a.m.)

  • Health Check
  • You & Your Dog Interview Judging
  • PetPALS Interview Judging
  • Canine Ambassador Interview – Youth meeting the age requirements will be sent info soon!
  • Skillathon – required for 2023!
  • Rally Show n’ Go – $5 cash/run optional

New for 2023: Showmanship and You and Your Dog questions will consist of 3 questions from the Ohio State Fair question bank and the remainder from the You and Your Dog project book and in the Dog Resource Guide (2018).

Livestock Project and Record Book Examples

Hey Livestock Exhibitors! We know many of you are working on your 4-H and FFA project books in preparation for club advisors to review these soon prior to fair!

I have found a great resource for you if you would like to see examples on how to complete your books! 4-H and FFA members from across the state have volunteered their books to serve as examples. Junior Fair Award Invoices – Reminders to be mailed Monday!

For those Junior Fair Award Sponsors who have not paid their invoice, please be on the lookout next week for a reminder to pay your invoice. Please pay promptly so that we can move forward with ordering respective awards and publish the Junior Fair Award Sponsors in our Junior Fair Book. Junior Leader Outdoor Furniture Sale

Want to help the Junior Leaders raise money for their club activities? Order an outdoor bench or picnic table today! Items are made from the plastic caps that 4-H clubs have been collecting and have been recycled. Items can be purchased by clubs or individuals and will be placed where the owner chooses. Please complete an order form: Junior Leader Outdoor Furniture Sale. All orders are due to the Extension Office by Aug. 11, 2023

These items will be ordered mid-August and will be available for pick up in November. More details will be shared with those who purchase an item as timelines are finalized.

Bottle Cap Project – FINAL RESULTS

Congratulations to the top 3 clubs in the Bottle Cap Project Club Contest:

As a reminder the top 3 clubs will receive a ‘cash’ prize for winning. Aubry will be reaching out to advisors on the week of 7/31 on how they would like to receive their prize.

Thank you to those clubs who have been collecting caps for the Fairfield County Junior Leaders Bottle Cap Project! We were able to collect 3,088 lbs of plastic bottle caps!!

We are excited to be able to offer outdoor furniture for sale to our community, and work with sponsors for new items at Alley Park.

Farm Science Review Tickets available at our office!

The 2023 Farm Science Review is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19 – Thursday, September 21, 2023,

We have 75 presale paper tickets available for purchase at our office….and once they’re gone, they’re gone!  We will not receive more.  Presale tickets are available in county offices and online at: https://www.showclix.com/event/fsr2023/tag/2023OSUE-Fairfield for $10 each until Friday, 9/15/2023.  Folks can pay for presale paper tickets here at our office by cash, check, or credit card.

Starting Saturday, 9/16/2023, tickets can be purchased for $15 each.

Children under 5 years old are FREE.

Parking is free.
