4-H Data Management Program Support Specialist

This is our 4HOnline and data management support position. Requisition R40628.

Job Overview: Provide primary end user support for the Ohio 4-H enrollment and data management system (4HOnline), providing high quality customer service, training, and troubleshooting; Guide end users in accessing the system for a variety of functions including 4-H events and activities (end users include  parents of 4-H participants, volunteers, and other professional and clerical staff); Develop and deliver Ohio 4-H specific documentation and training (in-person and on-line) for Extension professionals and clientele that supports the effective use of data management systems; Troubleshoot, create and update FAQs for end users; Manage and support 4-H data entry, compilation, analyses, records retention, reporting, and dissemination; Set up and facilitate the use of the data management system for 4-H communications, statewide events and activities; Prepare data and generate reports for grants, proposals, internal and external stakeholders; Manage and support annual background checks for Extension professionals and 4-H volunteers; Provide support for annual 4-H clubs and affiliates IRS reporting; Summarize 4-H program enrollment, background check, IRS-related, and other data to keep administrators, faculty, and staff informed of trends and status; Create correspondence, reports, infographics, and other materials related to 4-H data management; Complete project work independently as well as part of the overall state 4-H team to facilitate the effective and efficient functioning of the unit; Attend meetings with and on behalf of administrators in order to acquire and disseminate information; Interact with University personnel, students, external agencies, 4-H clientele, and the public.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree
  • 2 years prior experience:
    a) creating and developing training/educational materials; b) in business, non-profit, or university setting facilitating clientele communications and support; c) performing program evaluation, statistical data analysis and/or applied research integrating and interpreting data; and d) working with databases, including creating reports.
  • Knowledge of current qualitative and quantitative techniques for collecting and reporting data.
  • Subject matter knowledge to support youth-focused programs.
  • Understanding of importance of data utilization to demonstrate programmatic impact.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, including prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
