Market Hog Tagging – July 15th – 26th by club/chapter advisors!
Please be flexible and work with the scheduling of your club/chapter advisor as they make plans to visit your homes/farms to tag all market hogs for the 2019 Fairfield County Fair. All 4-H and FFA market hogs must be tagged between July 15th and July 26th, 2019. As a reminder, each exhibitor should complete a tagging form and has this form ready for your advisor(s) when they come to tag your animals.
Dairy Feeder, Market & MQP Lamb, and Market Goat Taggin & Weigh-In is Saturday, July 13th!
Don’t forget! Tagging for all dairy feeders, market and MQP lambs, and market goats will be Saturday, July 13th from 8:00 – 10:30 a.m. at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds. Each 4-H and FFA exhibitor will need to complete this tagging form for each species they plan to tag in on Saturday.
There will be no early tagging prior to this date.
Ohio State Fair Livestock Judging Contest
Come show what you know at the Ohio State Fair 4-H Livestock Judging Contest! Registration forms postmarked by this Friday, July 12 along with the $10 registration fee, will receive free admission to the fair. You may also register the day of the event with no admission included. The contest will take place on July 26th, 2019 at 10:00 am, with registration beginning at 8:30 am. Dine To Donate for 4-H: Raising Cane’s Fundraiser
The Fairfield County Junior Leadership Club will be hosting a Dine to Donate fundraiser on Tuesday, July 9th from 11am-8pm at the Lancaster location (1934 North Memorial Drive, Lancaster).
Supporters should show the official fundraiser flyer (shown below) in hard copy or on their phone. Please do not hand out flyers at the restaurant during the event. If you don’t tell the cashier you are there for the fundraiser, the Junior Leaders will not get credit for the sale.
Gift cards purchased during fundraisers do not count towards total donated sales, but purchases made with an existing gift card will count.
Thank you in advance for your support! Funds raised will go toward Junior Leader events and activities including the 4-H Advisors Banquet (held in November), community service events, and the Junior Leader Scholarship.
Gabby Gugliemotto and Caroline Mason win State 4-H Achievement Awards and trips to National 4-H Congress!
The 2019 Ohio 4-H Achievement Awards were presented recently at the Nationwide & Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center in Columbus. 4-H Achievement Awards are the top winner in a particular project area for the state of Ohio.
Twenty-nine 4-H Achievement Award winners will attend the National 4-H Congress with youth from all over the country in November in Atlanta, Georgia.
Winners from Fairfield County were: Gabby Gugliemotto for Horses and and Caroline Mason for Companion Animals.
In addition to the 29 Achievement Award recipients, two 4-H members received awards in each of the following areas: National Dairy Conference Sponsorships, Ohio Township Association Awards and Ohio State Fair Junior Fair Board memberships.
The evening was hosted by the Ohio 4-H Foundation. Ohio 4-H is the youth development program of Ohio State University Extension, with more than 156,000 young Ohioans participating in 4-H clubs, groups and special interest programs.
