Ohio 4-H Scholarship Information

Individuals Applying for Ohio 4-H Scholarships will do so via an online application which is due February 15, 2018.

Ohio 4-H recognizes and rewards individual excellence, whether it is in project work, leadership, citizenship or community service. Ohio 4-H Scholarships were established in 1976 in order to help young people become self-directing, productive and contributing members of society. Ohio 4-H Scholarship winners are selected at the state level annually in March/April by for each scholarship. For a list of Ohio 4-H Scholarships, click here.

In addition to the scholarships listed below, Fairfield County does offer county-based 4-H  scholarships. Please note that the Fairfield County 4-H Scholarship applications is a separate application that the Ohio 4-H Scholarship application. Please contact the Fairfield County Extension Office for more information about county scholarships.

To qualify for the Ohio 4-H Scholarships, you must complete the online scholarship application for The Ohio State University College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences by February 15th, 2018. This also applies to all students who are interested in applying for Ohio 4-H Scholarships but are not planning to attend OSU or OSU-CFAES.

In addition to personal information, before beginning the online application for the Ohio 4-H Scholarships, please make sure you have the following information available. Be ready to copy and paste from your computer! It is recommended to have an updated Ohio 4-H Achievement Form electronically to help you copy and paste information as needed. J

  • Campus information – starting autumn semester 2018, you will be attending: Columbus, ATI/Wooster, Regional Campus (Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Newark), or other. If you select other, be ready to include school/campus and your email.
  • OSU students will need to include their OSU ID and OSU Name.#
  • Personal information including name, permanent address, and phone number.
  • Academic information including major, and yes/no if you are planning to study abroad in the upcoming academic year. If yes to study abroad, please list which study abroad program you are interested in (limited to 300 words).
  • Participating in FFA: Yes/No.
  • Current member of an agricultural fraternity: Yes/No. If yes, select your fraternity.
  • Participation in Ohio 4-H: Yes/No. If yes, include the following:
    • Number of years of participation with 4-H. It is recommended to include Cloverbud years on this application!
    • Specify your major 4-H activities, 4-H honors, and major 4-H leadership roles (limited to 300 words). Put highest level activities/honors/leadership roles first! Include national/state/county information. It is recommend for you to list national and state information before listing county information.
    • Specify 4-H project achievements (limited to 300 words).
  • In autumn 2018, you will be incoming freshman/continuing student/transfer student.
  • Anticipated graduation date including term and year.
  • Extracurricular activities, including leadership positions (limited to 300 words). Students who have completed one year at OSU should only list their extracurricular activities, including leadership positions during their time at OSU.
  • Work experience including present and previous employment (limited to 300 words).
  • Personal statement about significant experiences, community involvement, and the qualities of character and leadership important to achieving your goals (limited to 300 words). Highlight personal accomplishments, achievements, experiences and life circumstances that have helped form your character. Comment on your aspirations in terms of your educational and career goals and explain the impact receiving a scholarship would have in your life. Please type your response below. It is recommend that you include 4-H information in your personal statement!
