Time to think about Summer Judging!

The Fairfield County 4-H project judging week is July 11-14, 2016.  All judging will be held at the Fairfield County Ag Center, 831 College Ave, Lancaster OH.

Monday July 11th will be All Food and Nutrition, Health, Family Life & Child Development, Home Decorating & Design and Money Management Projects from 2 pm to 7 pm.  Judging is a first come, first served process.  We ask that you carpool with other club or family members and leave younger siblings at home as we have limited space for everyone in our conference room and hallways.  **this request would apply for all days**  Please anticipate a wait in some cases if there are others who arrived ahead of you for judging.

Tuesday July 12th will be all Self Determined, Writing, Leadership & Citizenship, Cake Decorating (to be eligible for cake decorating at State Fair – you must participate in summer judging; you can also be judged in October at the County Fair for cake decorating), Scrapbooking, Quilting, Creative Arts, Theater Arts and Photography from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm.  Again, judging is a first come, first served process.

We will also have modeling practice for the Style Review July 12th, 10 am – 11 am at Bloom Carroll Middle School.  Fashion and Nutrition Board members will be on hand to help your child learn the proper modeling techniques for Thursday’s Style Review.

Wednesday July 13th will be the Rockets, Robotics, Science Fun, Bicycle, Electricity, Rope, Small Engines, Lawn Care, ATV, Woodworking, Discovering 4-H, Horseless Horse, Vet Science, Outdoor projects and Gardening from 2 pm to 7 pm.  Again, judging is a first come, first served process.

Thursday July 14th will be all clothing projects from 11 am to 4:30 pm.  Participants are then going to attend the Style Review at Bloom Carroll Middle School to model their project with the others in the class, and for the judges to make their final decisions as to the winner in each class.  In order to be eligible for State Fair judging in clothing, the member MUST attend the Style Review.  The Style Review will be held starting at 7 pm.  Participants are asked to arrive by 6:40 pm to get lined up for the Style Review.

We are looking for Adult and Jr Leader assistance on all judging days.  Please call the Fairfield County Extension Office at 740-652-7260 to volunteer to help.  Volunteers check members in, complete name cards for the fair, help members back to the judging area, hand out grade ribbons, and help with other tasks as needed.  Most time slots are 2 1/2 hours long.  Please call to volunteer today!

If you child cannot attend the normal judging days above, we will have late project judging on July 26th from 9 am to 5 pm. Please call the office to schedule your child’s project judging on July 26th at 740-652-7260.
