Learn to Sew Workshop Series – Open to Adults and Youth – September 18 – Mini Basket

The 4-H Greene County Food and Fashion Board is offering a Learn to Sew Workshop Series. These workshops will take place once a month staring in September and running through December, 2019.

Each class will be a quick and easy sewing project There is a cost of $5.00 per workshop, per participant. All workshops will start at 5:30 PM. Registration is required.  No walk-ins.

We will be providing some or all of the supplies for you. When all supplies are not provided, you will go home with some sewing tools for you to keep and help build your sewing box.

-Workshop Schedule

  • Wednesday, September 18 – Mini Basket
    Participants will need to bring: Two 10” squares of fabric, one for body, one for lining.
    Includes: Sewing Gauge and Seam Ripper
  • Tuesday ,October 15 – Quilted Potholder
    All supplies will be provided.
  • Thursday, November 14 – Easy Wallet
    Some supplies will be provided by the participant.
  • Monday, December 19 – Stuffed Snowman
    All supplies will be provided.

All workshops will be held at the Greene County Extension office in the Buckeye Room.

Greene County Food and Fashion Board

The Greene County 4-H Food and Fashion Board is seeking new members. If you are interested in helping newer 4-H members with their nutrition and sewing projects, this committee is for you.

Rules:
1. Applicants must be in grades 7-12th. A total of eight members will selected each year to join.
2. Applicants must have completed a sewing, nutrition, or related project in previous years.
3. Applicants must enroll in a sewing, nutrition, or related project for the upcoming year.
4. Applicants will be interviewed by FCS Educator and 4-H/FCS Program Assistant.
5. Application must be completed in blue or black ink or typed.

Responsibilities:
1. Members are asked to attend four meetings and two clinics.
2. Members are asked to complete 4-H projects:
age 10-12-377 Finding Your Voice: Public Speaking Made Easy
age 13-18-374 Teens on Board
3. Work at pre-fair judging.
4. Work at fair with style revue, baking contest, and open modeling contest.
