TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR DIABETES DURING THE HOLIDAYS
November is National Diabetes Month, and for the 24 million Americans who have diabetes, this time of year can be more difficult to manage.
Ohio State University Extension Clermont County will be offering a special Take Charge of Your Diabetes during the Holidays program. Those with diabetes or pre-diabetes and their family members or caretakers are encouraged to attend and learn how to stay healthy during the holidays.
Preparing nutritious foods that taste good can be difficult at any time of the year. The holidays present special challenges for individuals with diabetes. Take Charge of Your Diabetes during the Holidays will provide you with tips for managing your diabetes during the holidays. You will learn how to prepare favorite holiday foods that are both nutritious and delicious. Cooking demonstrations and samples will be provided.
Take Charge of Your Diabetes during the Holidays will be held on Wednesday, November 15, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Mercy Health Clermont Campus – Minning Hall (3rd Floor). Registration is required by Wednesday, November 8, and is open to the public. $10 Registration Fee includes appetizers, dinner and diabetic management tips presented by Robert Westbrook Jr., Pharmacist and Certified Diabetic Educator. To register contact Margaret Jenkins, M.Ed., OSU Extension Clermont County Family and Consumer Sciences Educator, at 513-732-7070 or email Jenkins.188@osu.edu.
